A new restaurant slated for a historic spot of East Boston is headed towards an opening this coming spring. Cunard Tavern is the work of Ducali's Phil Frattaroli, who purchased his grandparents’ wood shop in Jeffries Point, tore it down, and broke ground on this new restaurant.

The future home of Cunard Tavern will reportedly be a four-story building that will include four residences and a yoga studio, in addition to the restaurant, according to Bldup. Cunard Tavern will seat 65 people and an additional 35 on a roof deck at 47 Webster St., and it will serve scratch-made gastropub fare and craft beverages, as previously reported.

Another forthcoming restaurant in East Boston is also cruising towards a spring opening. Marc Orfaly (Pigalle, The Beehive), who recently consulted with chef Jay Silva on his restaurant JW’s in Wintrhop, will be at the helm of a restaurant that is slated to open in the ground floor of The Eddy, a mixed-use development located at 10 New St., not far from the Maverick MBTA station.

The restaurant will have an outdoor space as well and will reportedly offer poolside service, according to The Eddy’s website.
