An Asian fusion restaurant will soon open a new location along Commonwealth Avenue near Boston University. Gourmet Garden is slated to replace the now-closed Limoo Tea Bar, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
The restaurant will serve a lineup of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisine at 1032 Commonwealth Ave., including stir-fry, fried rice, noodles, sushi, hibachi, and more. The new Boston location joins three other Gourmet Garden restaurants in Swampscott, Canton, and Hingham. The folks behind this new Gourmet Garden location are Henna Xu, Ricky Huang, and Michael Lee, and they oversee the other three spots as well — plus four other restaurants under different names.
The Gourmet Garden team purchased the restaurant from Limoo’s Reza Rahmani, Joe Deng, and Raymond Lee, who are moving on to other ventures, as previously reported. Corbett Restaurant Group facilitated the sale. Limoo closed for good on December 23 after about three years of serving up boozy teas and more.
Note 1/6. 12 p.m.: This story has been updated to reflect further details about the sale of the restaurant space.
