A Florida-based pizza restaurant in the midst of growing its presence in the Boston area will add another new location to the mix today. Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza is ready to open its doors at 180 Needham St. in Newton, bringing plenty of pizza, Italian entrees, and more to the area.
This Anthony’s location joins other restaurants in Northborough, Littleton, Westwood, and Reading. The coal-fired pizzas that headline the menu are cooked at 800 degrees and have a crispy charred crust. The menu also features coal-fired chicken wings, meatballs made from a recipe perfected by founder Anthony Bruno’s grandmother, salads, and “eggplant Marino,” a dish named after NFL Hall of Famer and restaurant partner Dan Marino.
The Newton location of Anthony’s is situated a few doors down from Papa Gino’s and about two miles from Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana. Anthony’s will operate from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
