A little more than a year after first opening in Belmont, Phinix Grill will soon have a new location, this one in Cambridge. The Mediterranean fusion restaurant announced the new 245 First St. spot in a post on Facebook, and it will be bringing a lineup of shawarma, kebabs, and so much more to the Kendall Square neighborhood.
Phinix Grill first opened in the space at at 628 Trapelo Rd. (which formerly housed Sweet Peach Diner and Andros Diner) in November of 2015, as previously reported, and it has made a name for itself serving healthy Mediterranean-inspired fare and other restaurant specialties for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus catering. Sam Pogosov, a Yale MBA, and David Aleksanyan, of Flame Cafe in Boston, are behind the original concept, which is jumping closer to the heart of Boston in this expansion to Cambridge.
The restaurant’s menu features a wide range of options, including meat and vegetable kebabs, assorted seafood entrees, hummus, soups, salads, and so much more.
Update 1/3: Phinix Grill’s Cambridge menu will have some similarities to the Belmont restaurant, as well as some novelties of its own. The cafe is situated in the lobby of 245 First St., and it will be up and running from next week on, according to a message from the restaurant.
