A brewery that’s been churning out beer for nearly five years is now on the brink of opening up a brew pub at its facility in Maynard, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Battle Road Brewing Company will toast the occasion with a grand opening on January 28, starting at 11 a.m.
The brewery’s founders and industry veterans Jeremy Cross and Scott Houghton have been contract brewing since 2012 and will finally open the facility they have been working on for nearly two years. The Brew Pub is located at 5 Clock Tower Pl., the historic Clock Tower Mill, and overlooks Mill Pond. The space spans 12,000 square feet with a 250-person capacity and has a full restaurant, a tap room, and private tasting rooms, plus patio seating. There is also a 15-barrel brewing system that will allow Battle Road to produce around 1,500 barrels each year.
Chef Jordan Mackey oversees the menu at Battle Road’s brew house, which features classic New England fare like chowder, clams, oysters, and other seafood alongside Southern barbecue dishes including smoked meats and homemade sauces.
Battle Road’s beers include its classic 1775 Tavern Ale, a farmhouse ale, a porter, an IPA, and a special kolsch-style pale ale called Minuteman Gold that will be available only at the brew house.
Saturday’s grand opening will run from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and there will be live music from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. courtesy of The Road Dawgs.
