The people behind a now-shuttered North Attleboro restaurant, Ambrosia Tavern, have opened a new spot in the heart of Massachusetts’ football country. Olive & Mint is now up and running in Foxboro (home of Gillette Stadium) and will celebrate its grand opening tomorrow, just ahead of a big weekend for the New England Patriots. (Ambrosia fans will see hints of the old menu at Olive & Mint.)

The Mediterranean and Indian restaurant opened mid-December and is celebrating the occasion now. It took over the former Demetri's Functions space at 2 Washington St., as the Sun Chronicle reported, and it is serving up a wide range of menu items under chef Dev Chinta. Olive & Mint features Indian specialties like curry, rice, kababs and tikka entrees, small plates, and naan, along with Mediterranean dishes like hummus, falafel, and flatbreads, plus pasta, seafood, and meat entrees.

The grand opening kicks off Friday at 5 p.m., and there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, passed appetizers, and a champagne toast.
