A Boston-based grilled cheese restaurant and food truck now has a suburban outpost up and running. Roxy’s Grilled Cheese has opened its doors at MarketStreet Lynnfield and is now dishing out its popular sandwiches along with a few other new menu items.
The 1205 Market St. restaurant is the first of two new locations to open early this year — the other, Roxy’s Central/A4cade, is a collaboration with Cambridge’s Area Four that will bring grilled cheese together with arcade games and a whole bunch of fancy cocktails in Cambridge’s Central Square (293 Massachusetts Ave.) That’s slated to open later this month.

Roxy's got its start as a food truck in 2011, and its first brick-and-mortar in Allston followed in 2014. The restaurant set its sights on Lynnfield in 2015, as previously reported, and the dream of slinging suburban grilled cheese sandwiches is now finally real. (Roxy’s also serves its grilled cheeses out of a shipping container in South Boston.)
The Lynnfield restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, and it will play a part in showcasing new menu items, including a fried chicken sandwich. Other menu changes include the addition of tater tots at all locations (and they can be loaded with toppings), plus hot dogs, a veggie burger, salads, and ice cream and milkshakes at some locations.
