A local restaurant group unveiled its newest project in Quincy on Monday. Fuji at West of Chestnut is now officially open and serving up a familiar menu of Japanese fusion.
Fuji at West of Chestnut is a member of the JP Fuji Group, whose founders Jimmy Liang and Peter Tse oversee nine other restaurants in the Greater Boston area, including three other Fuji restaurants in Kendall Square, Assembly Row, and the South End. Another Fuji location in Quincy, Fuji 1546, closed down ahead of the opening for the new Fuji at West of Chestnut.
The Japanese fusion restaurant spans 5,000 square feet and seats 128, with 12 in a private dining room that serves omakase — the chef’s tasting menu. The restaurant’s full menu features a range of Japanese and Cantonese-influenced dishes, including sushi, fried rice, noodles, soups, salads, and more.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate the opening of Fuji at West of Chestnut and excited to be one of the anchor lifestyle features in the heart of the hottest development in Quincy,” Liang said in a release.
Fuji is situated in the new mixed-use development West of Chestnut, near the Quincy Center MBTA stop, and it is the largest of the JP Fuji Group’s restaurants. Other restaurants in the same development include KKatie’s Burger Bar, which opened in December, plus the forthcoming Café Gelato. Fuji is open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
