Quincy’s Pho Countryside Will Expand to Kenmore Square

A Vietnamese restaurant in Quincy has plans to open a northern outpost in Kenmore Square, taking over the space a French restaurant recently vacated. Pho Countryside, located at 217A Quincy Ave., will soon bring its extensive menu to Kenmore Square, an employee reached at the restaurant Thursday confirmed.

The new Pho Countryside will occupy the former Josephine space at 468 Commonwealth Ave., according to a tip Eater received indicating that a new banner sporting the restaurant’s name is already hanging at the restaurant. Josephine closed down recently after just about a year in business.

Pho Countryside offers a selection of pho; mixed vegetable dishes; vermicelli; rice dishes with shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, and more; and assorted desserts; as Boston Restaurant Talk reported. An exact opening date is not yet known.
