Cambridge’s newest brewery just passed its inspection and will open its growler counter to customers starting on Friday, September 30. Lamplighter Brewing Company, located at 284 Broadway between Central Square and Inman Square, has been working towards this day for more than two years, and now customers will finally get a taste of what they’ve been brewing.
The counter will open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with growlers to-go of both Lamplighter beer and coffee from Longfellows, the brewery’s partner in the space that will eventually offer assorted espresso beverages, cold brew and hot coffees, Belgian liège-style waffles, and more, once the brewery fully opens. Lamplighter will serve as a cafe by day and a brewery by night, with glorious hours of coffee and beer overlapping in the middle.
Lamplighter started brewing in July, and growler fills are the first step towards a full opening of the brewery’s taproom, which the founders hope to do in mid-October, asBoston Magazine notes. At that point, Longfellows will be fully operational and Lamplighter will start serving its planned hot dogs and tater tots along with its first seven beers, including IPAs, a gose, and a honey wheat, among others.
