A South Boston restaurant that shut down months ago is planning a resurgence and looking for support to reopen in a new location. My Diner, formerly of 98 A St., closed its doors after 12 years in business to accommodate a new condo development project in the neighborhood, but now it has its sights set on a new location at 545 E 8th St., according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

There is an abutters meeting next Monday to consider the proposal for My Diner to reopen in this new space. My Diner owners Ela and Ben Bashllari first opened the restaurant in 2004, and in February 2016 they knew that the building had been sold and the new owners planned to develop condominiums at the site, as previously reported. The diner closed down in June.

Initially, there were talks of temporarily relocating during construction and reopening in the same spot, but the owners were unable to find a temporary space ahead of the closure, per a message sent to Eater from the restaurant in June.
