There’s a new eatery in Allston and it’s serving up a hefty selection of Asian cuisine. Kirin Teppanyaki and Wok is now open at 140 Brighton Ave. with a renovated interior and a broad list of Chinese and Japanese offerings.

Kirin replaced Redneck’s Roast Beef (later Cafe Mitti), a longstanding spot that had been popular with college students, as Boston Restaurant Talk reported. The restaurant’s appetizers include chicken wings, boneless spare ribs, gyoza, spring rolls, and crab rangoon, and there are soups and salads to go along with the entrees that range from sushi to fried rice to Sichuan-style chicken, Teppanyaki steak, and General Tao’s shrimp, to name just a few.

The restaurant joins the Allston neighborhood amid a recent upswing in new dining options, including places such as Coreanos, Dumpling Kingdom, Hi B3ar, and the forthcoming Loui Loui Louisiana Seafood. Meanwhile, Refuge Cafe, located across the street from Kirin, will close at the end of this month.
