A barbecue place is on track to open in Downtown Crossing and will be taking over the storefront of a now-closed pizza place. Shed’s BBQ will be opening up at 32 Bromfield St. where Pizzeria Rico used to be, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
The barbecue restaurant will be located across the street from Sam LaGrassa’s, and it will specialize in "authentic Texas barbecue" that is "slow cooked to perfection," according to its existing Facebook page.
Shed’s BBQ joins a handful of other restaurants that have their sights set on Downtown Crossing. The New York-based chain Dig Inn, which has an existing Boston location on Boylston Street in Back Bay, will be opening another location in the former FroZenYo space on Washington Street, while the Boston Urban Hospitality group is slated to expand the Boston Chops concept to the neighborhood.
