A new restaurant is headed to Duxbury, and it will feature the commodity for which the town has come to be known — oysters. The Oysterman Raw Bar and Tavern is now hiring employees and will open soon at 30 Railroad Ave., according to a post on Craigslist.

The restaurant is in the process of staffing its opening team, and while its website has yet to reveal hints about the menu, the job posting indicates that the gastropub will reportedly feature raw bar items, craft beer, and potentially live music. The Oysterman has an entertainment license and could accommodate performances in the future, per a post on its Facebook page.

The concept embraces the wealth of oysters in Duxbury. There are dozens of oyster farms in the coastal town, including Island Creek Oysters, whose founder Skip Bennett sowed the first oyster beds in the area in the 1990s.
