A Watertown-based tea specialist that distributes to many shops and restaurants in Greater Boston just debuted its own retail space in Davis Square. MEM Tea’s newest venture opened at 196 Elm St. on Saturday and will serve as a training center, where the company will introduce wholesale clients and the public to the nuances of brewing the perfect cup of its tea.
Word of this shop from MEM Tea emerged in April, and though the company "hit a few snags along the road," according to a post on Facebook, the shop hosted its first official customers over the weekend. While the new space is not a cafe and will not be selling cups of tea there, it will offer teas for purchase, along with brewing instruction.
MEM Tea will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Another tea-centric shop, DavidsTea, will be opening down the road from MEM Tea in Harvard Square sometime this fall.
