Boston’s pastry queen Joanne Chang has a big expansion planned for her popular Flour Bakery & Cafe. She will add three new locations of the bakery over the course of the next five months, bringing the total number of Flours to seven, The Boston Globe reported.
Chang hinted at an the possibility of adding another Flour location last November, so while the expansion is not surprising, the volume is: Flour will nearly double the size of the business in a short time.
The three new locations will open in Harvard Square at 114 Mt. Auburn St. in October, in Cambridgeport on Erie Street in December, and behind the Prudential Center on Dalton Street in January, according to the Globe. The Cambridgeport spot will be open on weekdays with a pared-down menu. The existing locations are in Boston's Back Bay, Fort Point, and the South End, along with Central Square in Cambridge.
Chang has also floated the possibility of opening another restaurant in Kendall Square along with her husband, Christopher Myers.
