A dumpling house that has been in the works for more than a year is almost ready. Pink Samurai is on the brink of opening at 658 Centre St. in JP, according to Jamaica Plain News.
Word of Pink Samurai first surfaced last July, but much has changed since then. Chef Matt Cunningham (Strip-T's, UpStairs on the Square, The Sinclair, Farmhouse pop-ups) is no longer involved in the project; as Boston Restaurant Talk reports, Bob Botchie will be chef instead. Botchie is an alum of Erbaluce, Myers + Chang, and Shanghai Social Club.
Recently, Pink Samurai has made a push to hire front and back-of-house employees, according to various Craigslist posts, indicating an imminent opening. JP News reported the interior of the restaurant was nearly complete this week and there was a sign that said the place would be opening soon.
