DooWee’s @ Monroe Closes Indefinitely Amid Venue Changes

Just a few days after making its debut, DooWee’s @ Monroe in Central Square is on an indefinite hiatus as the venue implements some changes at the request of the City of Cambridge.

Chef Duy Tran brought his new concept to life on August 1 and planned to build up to a grand opening on September 1. His menu included assorted bao baos, chicken and rice plates, a Korean barbecue burger, and eight types of wings, among other dishes. However, the city recently levied disciplinary action on Monroe, the nightclub and restaurant formerly known as Naga/Moska, and as a result, DooWee’s @ Monroe is gone as quickly as it came.

After a series of violent incidents, the owners of Monroe, a restaurant and nightclub in Central Square, were called in to a disciplinary hearing with the City of Cambridge, which came down hard upon Monroe, giving it a seven-day suspension and changing the closing time from 2 a.m. to midnight, which Monroe was given the option to appeal.
