En Boca Opens Later This Month in the Sandrine's Space in Harvard Square

From the owners of The Asgard and The Kinsale

Later on this month, a Mediterranean-style wine bar will open up in Harvard Square, courtesy of some veterans of the Boston restaurant scene. En Boca is set to make its debut at 8 Holyoke St. in the former Sandrine’s space and will serve up small plates and shared dishes.

Peter Sarmanian and Bill Goodwin of Classic Restaurant Concepts (The Asgard, The Kinsale) purchased the space back in March of 2015 and decided to deviate from their Irish pub model for their third venue.

Executive chef Devin Broo (Bar Boulud Boston, Daniel) will be serving up a menu that features variants on tapas and larger shareable plates that draw upon the cuisines of the Mediterranean, including Turkey, Lebanon, Spain, and more. Dishes will include a baked farm egg with chorizo, bacalou croquettes with lemon aioli and malt vinegar, patatas bravas, and a spinach pie called byrek. There will also be a selection of cheeses.

The restaurant will seat 132 with a 17-seat bar and will offer beer, seasonal cocktails, and 12 wines served from an Enomatic wine preservation system. There is also a 36-seat private dining room. En Boca will be open seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and will eventually add on weekday lunch and weekend brunch.
