Boston’s very own blue-haired chef has a new project in the works that is slated to make its debut in Back Bay this fall. Jason Santos will be opening a Southern-style restaurant called Buttermilk and Bourbon in November, according to The Boston Globe.

Potential menu items for the Southern-inspired spot include barbecue shrimp, boiled peanut hummus, oyster chowder, house fried chicken served with assorted sauces (Southern-style, Nashville hot, sweet and spicy, or white barbecue sauce), and oysters, according to a rep. As for drinks, the restaurant will feature batch cocktails and bourbon-based beverages. Buttermilk and Bourbon will be open for dinner and Sunday brunch.

The restaurant will reportedly seat 150 people may have a small bar with tapped champagne.

Santos is the chef and owner of Abby Lane in the Theater District and Back Bay Harry's on Berkeley Street. He also previously ran Blue Inc. on the Waterfront but closed that restaurant in September 2014, and prior to that, he was the chef at Gargoyles on the Square in Somerville's Davis Square. He has also appeared on Hell’s Kitchen.
