A new spot for baked goods and coffee has opened its doors in Newton along the Watertown border. KoKo Bakery made its debut last week at 232L California St., according to a Hungry Onion user and a tip Eater received. The shop offers a wide range of baked goods, including French and German breads.

Owner Nobuko Maruyama has a background in French-style baking and previously worked at Japonaise Bakery in Brookline and for other independent bakers in the area, according to the bakery’s website. The bread selection at KoKo includes French baguettes and country bread, white breads, German rye, and more.

The bakery also offers croissants, scones, muffins, brownies, cake, doughnuts, and sweet rolls, including a red bean bun. There are assorted deli roll sandwiches, including tuna, ham, onion bacon, and more, and the bakery serves tea, juice, and a range of coffee and espresso beverages.
