Just a few months after a popular West Bridgewater sports bar marked 25 years in business, the place closed its doors for good, citing "circumstances beyond [its] control." The Charlie Horse, located at 674 West Center St. in West Bridgewater, marked its final day of service on Sunday, Boston Restaurant Talk reported.
The restaurant’s co-owner, Mary Barrett-Costello, said the decision to close was made on Thursday, motivated by the cost of remaining in that location, The Brockton Enterprise reported. She said the 22,000-square-foot space had declining business.
The Charlie Horse’s employees were told Monday morning and were given the option to continue working at other restaurants and function spaces in the Charlie Horse family, including the Abington Ale House and The Charlie Horse restaurant in Kingston, which remains open, as well as The Tirrell Room in Quincy and Jones River Trading Co. in Kingston.
