A section of Dorchester that has welcomed a number of new restaurants in recent months is about to add one more, courtesy of some veteran restaurateurs. Lucy’s American Tavern is on the brink of opening in Adams Village and will flood the neighborhood with a mix of gastro-style bar foods, craft beer, wine, and cocktails.
Shawn Ahern and his partners renovated the former Hollywood Video space at 11 Granite Ave., as previously reported, and they will finalize some details before opening.
"We are working diligently to get our doors open ASAP," a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page read. "We are working through the final processes. As of right now we are not open yet can't wait to post on here that we ARE!! We are looking forward to meeting all of our neighbors! See you soon!" Meanwhile, an Instagram post teases that the opening "could be as early as this weekend," so keep an eye on social media for updates.
The restaurant will seat 150 and will have another 50-60 on a seasonal patio.
Update, 8/16, 12p.m.: Lucy's American Tavern opens Wednesday, August 17 at 4 p.m.
