Boston’s capacity for Greek food seemingly has no end. The Trade team of Jody Adams, Eric Papachristos, and Sean Griffing are about to open a Mediterranean-style restaurant called Porto in Back Bay; Adams, Papachristos, and Jonathan Mendez unveiled the fast-casual Saloniki in Fenway in March; and Brendan Pelley is currently finishing out his residency with Pelekasis at Wink & Nod; not to mention Doretta Taverna and Kava Neo-Taverna, both additions to Boston within the last year.
Yet there’s still room for more, and Committee’s Demetri Tsolakis will add to this burgeoning trend with a new fast-casual Greek place in Back Bay, which will be called Gre.Co, The Boston Globe reports. The restaurant will be located at 225 Newbury St., the former Scissors & Pie space, and possible menu items include loukoumades (Greek dumplings), along with assorted slow-cooked items and desserts. Stay tuned for more information.
