A popular Newton sandwich shop that specialized in Louisiana-style creations has closed down, according Boston Restaurant Talk. Owner Eric Cormier has shuttered Po Boy at 67 Crafts St., and the shop’s eponymous sandwiches go away with it, The Boston Globe confirmed.

Po Boy first opened in 2012, and Cormier specialized in oyster, shrimp, catfish, and New Orleans chicken po boys. The menu also featured an assortment of subs, steak sandwiches, hamburgers, and items like chicken salad, turkey, and pastrami sandwiches. Po Boy also served sides, including French fries, onion rings, and chicken fingers.

Cormier told the Globe he was sad about closing Po Boy but would use the change to spend time with his son.
