A chain of local burrito shops has closed a number of its locations recently, and it has now shuttered its original location as well, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Boca Grande Taqueria on Massachusetts Avenue near Porter Square closed its doors last week, and only a location in East Cambridge remains.

At its peak, the local chain that first opened in Cambridge in 1986 had five locations in the Boston area, but it closed its Coolidge Corner restaurant in February and its Brighton location just prior. Another local chain, Los Amigos, took over the Coolidge Corner location and is reportedly opening in the Brighton location as well.

The restaurant serves Mexican-style cuisine, including everything from enchiladas to tamales, as well as burritos, quesadillas, and tacos. There are also extras like guacamole, salsa, grilled vegetables, and nachos. The East Cambridge Boca Grande is located near CambridgeSide Galleria at 149 First St. and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
