After fourteen months and a round of online fundraising, GrandTen Bar is finally ready to open in South Boston. The cocktail bar will be part of GrandTen Distilling and will open to craft spirit-loving customers this coming weekend.

GrandTen conducted fundraising over IndieGoGo. The efforts began in March 2015, as previously reported, and GrandTen aimed to raise $20,000. The original concept was going to be called Bar 383, but that name has since changed, and now, GrandTen Bar has arrived and will grandly open this weekend, from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday, July 8; from 1 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday, July 9; and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 10.

The bar was designed to be "a space in our distillery to enjoy cocktails directly from the source," according to the GrandTen website. The cocktails will be both classic and modern and will highlight the spirits distilled on site.

Following the grand opening period, GrandTen Bar’s hours will be Thursday from 4 to 11 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m.

Update, 7/5, 2 p.m.: Everything on the cocktail menu at GrandTen Bar will contain ingredients produced in the distillery, Wes Dalton, GrandTen's production manager, told Eater. GrandTen's 11 spirits will be combined with seasonal syrups, tinctures, and shrubs, Dalton said, with the new bar manager Steve Schnelwar (formerly Tavern Road and 80 Thoreau) leading the charge.

"Our initial offerings will include several completely original recipes, as well as spins and riffs on classic cocktails," Dalton said. "Because it is summer, our starting list will lean towards bright, citrus-forward and refreshing drinks. As our spirit, tincture, and shrub catalog grows over time, we will begin to move into uncharted territory by offering more complex and unique cocktails entirely still-to-glass."

On the food menu, GrandTen Bar will feature small bites, bar snacks, and food trucks for weekends and events. Beyond this opening weekend, GrandTen has more plans for the space, including games, more seating, movie and trivia nights, and more.
