A casual French restaurant in Concord is closing after 18 years in business. La Provence, owned and operated by Robert Didier, has its last day of service today at 105 Thoreau St., according to Wicked Local.

Didier cited health problems as his reason for closing down the restaurant, reportedly saying that he would miss seeing the same faces of his loyal customers each day. The chef was born in France and lived in England before moving to the US, and he has worked in kitchens since age 14.

Didier’s restaurant served items like boeuf bourguignon with mashed potatoes, ratatouille, salads, croissants, quiches, tarts, cakes, and much more.
