A new North End seafood spot from some veteran restaurateurs officially opens today with plenty of pasta and fish dishes to go around. Donato Frattaroli and Donato Frattaroli Jr. debut Il Molo and the stylings of chef Pino Maffeo today at 326 Commercial St. in the North End, Boston Magazine reported.

Il Molo took over the space formerly occupied by Davide and turned it around to suit its "serious seafood" needs. The ocean-inclined menu takes on an Italian flare, with dishes including oyster and crudo options along with seafood pasta, bolognese, clam chowder, salads, and two kinds of "shellfish plateaus," complete with shrimp cocktails and crab claws. There are also seafood entrees like Maine lobster, hay-roasted salmon, and herb-crusted sole, as well as veal, chicken, and sirloin.

Il Molo features a main dining room and bar with granite tops and marble tables, as well as a back room that can be made private for parties. It is open Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
