A much-anticipated brewery and taproom makes its grand debut on Thursday, July 21 in Dorchester, where it has big plans for the neighborhood. Dorchester Brewing Company has been in the works for about two years, with its co-founders working towards creating the optimal space for brewing and drinking beer, both for its own needs and for the needs of other smaller breweries that will be able to contract out space within the massive building.

Co-founders Todd Charbonneau, Matt Molloy, Travis Lee, and Holly Irgens posted a note on the Dorchester Brewing Company website, thanking all of their supporters as they prepare to open for business. Together, they bring to Dorchester Brewing Company years of experience in beer, marketing, and development, with Charbonneau a 10-year veteran head brewer at Harpoon.

Dorchester Brewing will celebrate its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Marty Walsh on Wednesday, and the space opens to the public Thursday. There will be food trucks at the site on weekdays for dinner and on the weekends for lunch, and the brewery will start offering tours and beer to-go in August. It started brewing at the end of June and has a 20-line tap system.

The taproom hours will be Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
