A Japan-based bakery with a location in Chinatown has completed its latest expansion, debuting a new location at 145 Brighton Ave. in Allston just last week. Beard Papa’s rolled into the neighborhood, bringing with it the chain’s patented flavored cream puffs, a Chowhound user reported. The store's hours are 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., according to an employee reached at the shop on Monday morning.
Beard Papa’s first emerged in 1999, and after years of expansion, the bakery now has quite the span of locations around the world. Boston’s Chinatown shop opened last year, and word of the Allston location came in May. A previous location in Faneuil Hall has since closed.
The bakery specializes in cream puffs of all flavors, including green tea, vanilla, espresso, cookies and cream, strawberry, and dulce de leche. Beard Papa’s also serves an array of other pastries, cakes, coffee, tea, and Japanese sodas.
