Mamaleh’s Delicatessen officially throws open its doors in Cambridge’s Kendall Square tomorrow (Tuesday, July 12), joining another brand new restaurant, The Smoke Shop, at One Kendall Square. Mamaleh’s, located in the former West Bridge space, comes from the team behind State Park, which is in the same building (#300). Take a look inside.
Here’s what you need to know for week one: There’s no dinner just yet, but you can still try the full menu. Mamaleh’s will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. this week for coffee, espresso drinks, and breakfast at the counter. Then, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the full menu will be available; you can dine in or take out (online ordering available).
According to an announcement from the Mamaleh’s team, there will be smoked fish and meat, halvah, and more in the deli case, and keep an eye out for fresh-baked chocolate babka, black-and-white cookies, raspberry walnut rugelach, and bagels. Take a trip through Instagram to check out some of the other offerings, courtesy of people who attended the friends & family opening this weekend — there’s a pastrami and chopped liver sandwich on rye, for example, not to mention pastrami, corned beef, and tongue, lox and bagels, and, of course, matzoh ball soup.
Beverages include egg creams, milkshakes (and boozy milkshakes), sodas made in-house, an Eastern European-influenced beer selection, and deli-inspired cocktails (such as a cherry bourbon phosphate with house-made soda). And Manischewitz.
Plus, there will be a tchotchke-filled gift shop, from books and games to candy and t-shirts.
