Boston Public Library's Courtyard Restaurant is switching up its routine with an expansion of its afternoon tea in place of the usual lunch, according to a release. The final lunch service was held on June 3, and this week the restaurant unveiled its new menu that is filled with finger sandwiches, delightful-sounding pastries, and plenty of tea options.

Tea service at the Courtyard Restaurant now runs Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the tea varieties include a wide range of green, black, and herbal teas, as well as a matcha option.

Food-wise, the menu features classic cucumber sandwiches along with such dishes as smoked salmon, roasted ham, deviled chicken, lemon shrimp salad, and wild mushroom butter sandwiches. The lineup of pastries runs the full gamut from tea scones to assorted petits fours, including French macarons and a fresh fruit tartlet with vanilla crème patisserie.

The library also has plans for a new cafe in conjunction with the opening of a satellite studio for Boston's WGBH; it will appropriately be christened the "Newsfeed Cafe."
