Worcester will welcome a new restaurant next week when Oak Barrel Tavern crashes onto the scene with pub fare and bourbon. The 229 Grove St. restaurant is slated to open June 13 at 11 a.m., debuting its lineup of burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and lengthy bar menu.

Oak Barrel took over the former Tweed's Pub location, which had been a popular neighborhood spot. After extensive renovations, it's ready to welcome guests. The restaurant will offer wine and beer, including 15 rotating draft lines, as well as a wide selection of bourbons, including Kentucky styles, single barrel and small batch bourbons, ryes, blended and Irish whiskeys, scotch blends, and single malts.

The restaurant will also cater to game-watching, with a number of HD televisions around the space. The interior features exposed brick and wood paneling, high-top and standard tables, bar seating, and a lounge area, and antique photographs line the walls.

Oak Barrel Tavern will be open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
