A restaurant that serves Chinese and Japanese cuisine in Wellesley will expand its operation and take over a space in Coolidge Corner left vacant by the decades-old Mr. Sushi. Jin's Fine Asian Cuisine and Sushi Bar is now under construction at 329 Harvard St., according to an employee reached at the Wellesley location Wednesday morning.
Mr. Sushi had operated in Brookline for nearly 30 years but closed for good at the end of October, as previously reported. The storefront has sat empty for months, but now Jin's is at work making the space its own.
The Wellesley restaurant serves a broad range of dishes, including dim sum and starters like crab rangoon, lettuce wraps, and soups. Jin's also offers moo shi; assorted poultry, seafood, and beef dishes; noodle soups; salads; and clay hot pot dishes. On the sushi side, there are combo plates, nigiri options, and maki rolls. Jin's also has a weekday lunchtime buffet.
An exact timeline for construction and a possible opening date were not known, but an update will be provided as soon as this information is available.
