A fast-casual restaurant with roots in New York and a focus on seasonal ingredients is getting ready to open its first Boston location and is starting to hire employees. Dig Inn kicked off a pre-opening hiring event at 8 a.m. today at 36 Gloucester St. in Back Bay and will welcome applicants for its founding team until 4 p.m.
"Our mission is to train the next generation of cooks, chefs, and restaurateurs, and help small and mid-sized farms scale sustainably. From paddock to plate, we’re building community," Dig Inn's job application page reads, where potential employees can submit their applications. The restaurant is hiring all positions from cashiers to baristas and cooks.
The restaurant is slated to open soon at 557 Boylston St., as previously reported, and specializes in sourcing seasonal ingredients from local providers to offer healthy meals at manageable prices.
With 11 existing locations in New York, this new Boston spot will offer one size of Dig Inn's signature menu item, the marketplate, which includes a choice of protein served on a bed of greens or grains, as well as two sides. Some of the local farms involved with Dig Inn include Plainville Farm, 4 Town Farms, Pete's Greens, Pleasant Valley Gardens, Ward's Berry Farm, and Farmer's Garden.
