In late April, when Jody Adams announced her upcoming departure from Rialto after more than two decades, it seemed the restaurant would continue on without her. There would be a party in her honor in late June before the restaurant began its new chapter, and Rialto chef de cuisine David Ladner was slated to step into the role of executive chef.
But today, Adams sent out a newsletter announcing that the restaurant will close this month. The note read in full:
"More than two decades of dining, celebration and merriment will come to an end with Rialto's last evening of service on June 22nd. Please come by in the remaining few weeks to raise a glass and say farewell."
Adams is also an owner of Trade, located near South Station, and she recently opened fast-casual Greek restaurant Saloniki near Fenway with others from the Trade team. Next up, she'll be opening a Mediterranean seafood restaurant in Back Bay called Porto with Eric Papachristos and Sean Griffing.
