Powderhouse Square in Somerville is now home to a new restaurant, Mint Indian Eatery, which specializes in street food from both India and Nepal. The place is now open at 868 Broadway, where a number of different restaurants have turned over in recent years, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

A LiveJournal user reported eating everything from mango lassi and vegetable pakoras to samosa chaat, and the user noted that the restaurant was not currently offering several menu items but that the full menu should be available in the near future.

Mint Indian Eatery is the work of a husband-and-wife team who grew up eating street food and wanted to bring the concept to Somerville. "Our concept is very simple and so is our menu. We simply want you to experience the taste of street foods without having to put your health in stake. So think of us as street food prepared indoors with quality," the restaurant's website reads.

Mint's menu consists of an assortment of momo and kati rolls that come with onion and mint chutney, as well as chaat, samosas, and pakoras. The restaurant opened on June 1 and its hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
