A popular Italian bodega in Coolidge Corner is getting ready to unveil a new outpost in Newton. Bottega Fiorentina will hold a soft opening for its new location on June 5, celebrating the occasion by offering free espresso.
The new restaurant from Andrea and Cristina Ferrini will open at 11 a.m. on Sunday after more than a year of preparation building out the interior of the restaurant and attaining the necessary approvals from the city. The original Bottega is in Brookline, and another location in Back Bay has since closed.
Newton's Bottega will feature the same menu as the Coolidge Corner restaurant and grocery, as Andrea Ferrini previously told Eater. The restaurant's patented Wednesday and Sunday special, which offers pasta with a choice of any of 15-plus sauces for $4.99, will also carry over to Newton. Italian gelato will be on the menu as well.
Bottega Fiorentina will have 16 seats and a window counter, plus a family-style picnic table. For the soft opening this coming Sunday, customers will be able to stop by the restaurant and get free espresso, and the $4.99 pasta special will be in effect.
