A new vendor will soon open in Boston Public Market, bringing carb-filled happiness to the city. Levend Bagelry is set to open in the Haymarket facility, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, and it will serve all manner of carb-filled treats.
The shop's sourdough bagels are hand-shaped and organic, according to a job posting on BostonChefs.com that calls out for bakers and sandwich makers to join the team. The Bagelry promises bagels, sandwiches, and pizza bagels (so you can eat pizza anytime), with everything made on site.
It also takes full advantage of local ingredients when it possible, the posting suggests. Levend Bagelry has been around since August 2015, when it got started in a commissary kitchen in Malden. Alex Jong is the face behind the bagels and has been selling the homemade treats at pop-ups and farmers markets, in addition to delivering to homes and offices. This will be Levend's first retail space, and it has launched an Indiegogo page to fund the move to Boston Public Market. The fundraising will help cover a portion of the cost of a refrigerator, a mixer, a boiling kettle, an oven, prep tables, and more.
