After a jam-packed soft opening on Friday and Saturday night, Coreanos took yesterday off and grandly opens tonight with the full menu. As previously reported, the 12-seat restaurant offers traditional Korean dishes as well as Korean-Mexican fusion, courtesy of Bibim alum Jina Kim and her husband and son, Yongsik and Alex respectively. Coreanos is located at 172 Brighton Ave., previously home to Al’s Deli/WAN Convenience, which may reopen elsewhere.
Coreanos serves traditional Korean dishes like stews and bibimbap, as well as dishes that meld aspects of Korean and Mexican cuisine — think Korean tacos in flavors like bulgogi beef, spicy pork, and kimchi tofu; kimchi fritas; and more.
It's an exciting time for fans of Korean-Mexican food in Allston. Just a month ago, another restaurant called OliToki opened up right down the street, serving Korean-inspired burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and more.
Coreanos is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
