A new restaurant for Asian cuisine recently opened in Malden, bringing a wealth of seafood and sushi to the neighborhood. Ibasaw (wasabi spelled backwards) opened up at 95 Middlesex St., according to a user on Chowhound, featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet plus sushi and shabu (hot pot).
Ibasaw’s buffet is priced at $27.95 without hot pot and $30.97 with hot pot, and there are special prices for kids ages 4-10, according to photos posted on Yelp. The restaurant had its grand opening on May 31, a post on Facebook indicated, but the roots of this concept go back to 2014, when it was announced that the eatery would take over a former Applebee’s space near Stop & Shop.
The people behind Ibasaw are also tied to Jasmine, a restaurant in Auburn, according to state filings. Jasmine serves sushi, Chinese food, and more.
Ibasaw is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Sunday and for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
