A coffee bar on the route of the Freedom Trail is officially open, ready to cater to the caffeine-driven crowds of Downtown Boston. Ziggy's Coffee Bar took over the space at 102 Tremont St. where a former coin shop used to be and is functioning as a division of the adjacent Beantown Pub.

Ziggy's serves a full coffee bar with espresso-based drinks, as well as cold brew iced coffee and nitro cold brew. On the beverage side, there is also tea, lemonade, hot chocolate, and chai. For food, Ziggy's offers light cafe fare, including breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, muffins, and croissants, plus cold sandwiches, pressed panini, and New England clam chowder.

When not functioning as a coffee bar with a separate entrance from Beantown, Ziggy's will provide additional bar seating at night, bringing the bar's occupancy from 249 to 275, as previously reported.

Ziggy's serves coffee from Intelligentsia and Fazenda roasters. The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to its Facebook page.
