A new spot for health food is getting ready to open its doors in Brighton's Oak Square. Energize Juice and Salad Bar took over the space at 618 Washington St. and turned it into a haven for fruit- and vegetable-laden smoothies, juices, and salads, and it will finally shower the neighborhood with these treats starting at 12 p.m. today, May 6.

"Ever since we took the covers off from the windows people are constantly walking in and asking if we are open," owner Tihomir Deliivanov told Eater in an email.

Deliivanov, along with three friends — Ivaylo Dimitrov, his brother Tsvetelin Dimitrov, and Radomir Stoyanov — left Bulgaria and moved to the U.S. in 2008. They dove head-first into learning all they could about plant-based foods, juicing, and juice blends, as previously reported, and they came up with the idea to open Energize so they could share their knowledge with others.

Their shop in Oak Square features wood accents and tables, as well as a subway-tiled backsplash. The place caters to their plans to "create a health oasis where people from all walks of life can stop by and energize regardless of their diet and lifestyle."

Energize's menu has four mainstays, three of which are juicy: fresh squeezed juice, cold-press juice, juice blends, and salads. Once it opens today at noon, its hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
