A beacon of cheesy goodness in Boston will take its talents to the 'burbs in the not-too-distant future. Roxy's Grilled Cheese is a step closer to opening its new location at MarketStreet in Lynnfield, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Owner James DiSabatino tells Eater they're currently shooting for a fall opening.
This will be the newest restaurant for Roxy's, which already has a brick-and-mortar in Allston, a shipping container in South Boston, and food trucks on the road. The 1205 Market St. location is one of two planned expansions for Roxy's. It's also teaming up with Area Four to open a combo restaurant/arcade near MIT at 300 Massachusetts Ave. That concept could also open in the fall.
The restaurant's application for a common victualler license in Lynnfield will go before the Board of Selectmen on May 9, according to Patch. Roxy's has also applied for a wine and malt liquor license at that location.
Roxy's offers a lineup of grilled cheeses — including vegan-friendly options — along with burgers and sides like fries, soups, cookies, and poutine.
