A new hot pot spot has popped up in Chinatown, taking over a former McDonald's location at 702 Washington St. It retained the pagoda-style awning from the former restaurant, which had been in the neighborhood for about 25 years, as previously reported.

Joy Luck Hot Pot features a number of other dishes alongside its hot pot offerings, according to early reviews on Yelp. Some of the items include seafood yee mein, fried shrimp balls, and yang chow fried rice. According to one review, the restaurant's all-you-can-eat hot pot buffet is priced at $17.99 Friday through Sunday and $15.99 for weekdays, in addition to a la carte dining options.

Another Yelp user noted that Joy Luck Hot Pot had opened on April 29 and that she was told the kitchen was "still working on kinks" with the menu. Previous details from the Boston Chinatown Resident Association indicate the restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

In other recent hot pot news, Yuki is now open in Somerville's Union Square and Happy Lamb Hot Pot is open in Cambridge's Central Square.
