A sophisticated steakhouse with locations across the country will lay down some roots on Boston's waterfront, Boston Restaurant Talk reported. Mastro's Steakhouse will reportedly open at Twenty Two Liberty, a new development with luxury residences at Fan Pier. (The shuttered Sam's at Louis was previously going to be reborn at the development, but that is no longer happening, and the Sam's team is focusing on The Maiden, which opened in South Boston in late 2015.)
Mastro's Steakhouse, which has other locations in Arizona, California, Illinois, Nevada, New York, and Washington, D.C., serves a variety of seafood and steaks. The menu includes crab cakes, smoked salmon, beef carpaccio, sushi, potato and vegetable dishes, and a broad range of steak cuts.
According to a post on Craigslist, Mastro's is now hiring employees for this forthcoming location, including general and assistant managers, an executive chef, a sous chef, and a food and beverage controller. The post also notes that Mastro's is part of the giant Landry's "restaurant, hospitality, gaming, and entertainment conglomerate," which includes Morton's, Rainforest Cafe, McCormick & Schmick's, and a variety of other familiar chains.
The Seaport District has seen a tremendous amount of development in recent years, and Mastro's will be located fairly close to a couple other pricey steak options — Ocean Prime and Del Frisco's.
