Months after a South End restaurant closed its sibling and neighbor, it plans to debut a new concept in the space. Estragon Tapas Bar, located at 700 Harrison Ave., closed its breakfast and lunch spot Las Ventas back in November, announcing it would incorporate the space into the restaurant and use it for private functions.
Now, Estragon has a designated area that can serve as both an event space as well as a separate bar. Its new concept Bar Gogo (stylized as BAR GOGO) will be open to the public on Sunday nights and will offer cocktails, a special menu, and more. Bartender Sahil Mehta will craft a rotating cocktail menu for Bar Gogo, and there will be a specific Sunday night supper menu from chef Julio de Haro.
On all non-Sunday nights when Bar Gogo is not open to the public, the space will be used for private events through Estragon, including special dinners, cocktail events, and other festivities. Estragon is known for serving authentic Spanish tapas, including dishes like croquetas, paellas, and assorted meats and cheeses.
The new Bar Gogo concept makes its debut on June 12.
