Kendall Square is on the verge of becoming home to a classic Jewish deli, courtesy of the good folks at State Park (and the now-shuttered Hungry Mother). Mamaleh's Delicatessen is in the process of building up its staff and is now barreling towards a mid-June opening, according to assorted recent posts on its Instagram page — not far off from an earlier "May-ish" estimate.
The highly anticipated project comes from Rachel Miller Munzer, Alon Munzer, Tyler Sundet, Rachel Sundet, John Kessen, Evan Harrison, and Heather Mojer, the same crew that runs State Park next door and is working on plans to open a new concept in the former Hungry Mother space nearby.
Mamaleh's held a pop-up event at Eastern Standard back in March, and the crew has periodically sampled out select menu items (like bagels and lox) at State Park as they've worked towards an opening date.
