Fort Point's Sleeper Street Cafe Closes This Week

Sleeper Street Cafe will close its doors for good this week, departing the Fort Point neighborhood and the street that gave it its name, Boston Restaurant Talk reported. The cafe's final day will be Friday, May 27. An employee reached Monday morning said the lease on the place was up, and the cost became too high to retain.

A note from cafe manager Henry Wang was posted at the cafe, according to a post on Twitter. The note thanked customers for their business and support, saying that "unfortunately, Sleeper Street Cafe will be closing by the end of this month." Wang continued: "Hopefully I can find another location nearby."

The cafe at 51 Sleeper St. was open for breakfast and lunch, serving everything from fruits, muffins, and pastries to club sandwiches, salads, wraps, and assorted beverages. Sleeper Street also offered catering and business lunch takeout options.
